STAR-TEX
STAR-TEX drilling fluid additive is a water-dispersible, asphaltic compound designed for stabilizing sloughing shale and assisting in reducing torque and drag.
Application
STAR-TEX mixes well in both freshwater and seawater environments. STAR-TEX disperses uniformly in the mud system and is free from "tar ball" formation in the mud pits or on shaker screens. STAR-TEX provides a slight deflocculating effect when added to the mud.
Advantages
- Stabilizes sloughing clay and shale
- Improves borehole stability
- Enhances filter-cake quality
- Lowers torque and drag
